Collecting the right data remains one of the biggest challenges when chasing down the root of a problem and achieving a quick resolution. Consistency in tracing and logging methods has been a key focus area for the Product Supportability and Engineering teams.

In this session you’ll learn about Always-On Tracing which aims to reduce analysis time especially for intermittent issues, and we’ll provide guidance on the key data points our Dev Analysis teams use when researching root cause for XenApp/XenDesktop, XenMobile, and NetScaler products. We’ll also show how Long-Term Service Releases can minimize the risk and expense of introducing change to your environment.

Kappa is a senior engineer of the US DevAnalysis Team. His current focus is XenMobile, and he’s also has experience in the XenApp and XenDesktop product lines. Over his past 12 years at Citrix, he has developed several popular troubleshooting tools such as CDFControl and Print Detective. He has also served a few interesting roles in Citrix, including Senior Escalation Engineer for the US escalation team, and Senior Product Developer for ShareFile MacOS.

With over 25 years of experience in both UNIX and Windows software and embedded hardware development, Robert performs high-level troubleshooting and code-analysis for the Netscaler product line.  In addition, Robert develops internal tools utilized by the Netscaler technical support and engineering teams and is the author of numerous customer-visible Citrix Knowledgebase articles. If you’re considering a move to Citrix Cloud and plan to use Azure as your resource location, you won’t want to miss this one. This session highlights lessons learned from a Senior Escalation Engineer around common issues customers experience when integrating XenDesktop or Citrix Cloud XenApp and XenDesktop Services with Azure Resource Manager.

We’ll also look at one of the more common problem types seen in a Citrix Cloud user environment: connectivity issues related to communication or registration failure between VDA and Controller. Understanding how to identify and resolve these issues quickly are critical to supporting a Citrix cloud environment.

In this session, we’ll cover common pitfalls and problems, then share ways to avoid or resolve them using key log files. We’ll also review the latest best practice guidance and self-service tools such as XenMobile Analyzer, Auto Discovery Service, and App Wrapping Self-Service Portal. Finally, we’ll provide tips, tricks, and knowledge that will help you set up a solid and perfectly paired XenMobile and NetScaler deployment.

Product and Supportability teams have joined forces to make StoreFront and NetScaler Gateway configuration easy from the start, as it should be. However, a solid understanding of the communication flow between NetScaler Gateway, StoreFront and XenApp/XenDesktop resources is essential if problems arise and you need to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly.

In this session you’ll learn about common error messages and configuration challenges you may encounter when integrating NetScaler Gateway and Storefront, where communication flow problems may occur, and troubleshooting tips to help with the Integration. We’ll also walk you through the key improvements we’ve made and give you a glimpse of the improvements on the horizon.

XenServer 7.1 introduces enhanced features and functionality for application, desktop and server virtualization use cases. Major themes for this release are simplified maintenance and enhancements to Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS).

In this session you’ll learn about the new features in XenServer 7.1 such as Automated Updates in XenCenter, Live Patching with no host reboot required, and PVS-Accelerator. We’ll also provide troubleshooting tips and case studies for common problems based on real-world XenServer deployments.

When we look at the problems that float to the top of our support case funnel, we notice several areas where NetScaler customers feel the most pain: upgrades, configuration workflow for GSLB and monitors, SAML and 2-factor authentication.

In this session, we’ll discuss ongoing product supportability efforts and recently released solutions that aim to reduce effort when deploying or upgrading Delivery Networks products and accelerate the move to latest product versions. We’ll also provide a glimpse of improvements on the horizon.
